Review: Thai Restaurant Experience

I love food and I love eating out at restaurants. I like to try a new place at least once a month!

One of my work colleagues is leaving us tomorrow so she arranged for us to go to a Thai Restaurant for lunch today. I’ve never been big on Thai food to be honest. I tried a Thai prawn curry recipe once which was turned out okay, so I was a bit sceptical whilst going through the menu, not being familiar with most of what was on the menu. However, I like to keep an open mind when it comes to food so I decided to try it out.

The restaurant was a short walk away from our office which was a good. As soon as I walked into the restaurant I thought “wow!” The gold and purple décor caught my attention straight away! It’s probably the most beautiful restaurant I’ve been to in my city! I can’t think of any other restaurant I’ve been to which has so much elegance and uniqueness! The seats were different to what I am used to but very pretty and comfortable. They reminded me of French vintage sofas and it’s something I’d definitely like to have in my bedroom LOL! Even the cutlery was unique and the waiters were dressed in traditional Thai attire.

I chose Gaeng Phed Ped Yang; which is roasted duck in red curry paste with coconut milk, pineapple, lychee, tomatoes and basil leaves. I chose Egg fried rice with it. I really enjoyed the meal and it wasn’t too spicy which I liked! M

ost places have a limited lunchtime menu so I was impressed with the 32 different options we could choose from. Overall, I enjoyed having lunch at Tarn Thai restaurant will definitely visit again!

Today's green juice

This morning I made this delicious juice. It contained 4 kiwifruits, 1 apple, peach, 2 handfuls of kale. Not only did it taste good but it was super healthy! Let me tell you why…

Kale - One serving of Kale contains just 30 calories and provides a day's worth of vitamin C, twice the recommended daily intake of vitamin A, and nearly seven times the recommended amount of vitamin K.

Kiwi fruit - Kiwis are a good source of vitamin E, an antioxidant known to protect skin! It also high in vitamin C which boosts our immune system. With a great source of fiber, Kiwi’s helps prevent constipation and other intestinal problems

Peaches - They are rich in many vital minerals such as potassium, fluoride and iron. Iron is required for red blood cell formation. Fluoride is a component of bones and teeth and is essential for prevention of dental caries. Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids that help regulate heart rate and blood pressure.

All these great health benefits in one drink, not to mention I’ve had 4 of my 5 portions of fruit and veg required daily before 9 o clock this morning. What a healthy way to start the day!

A moment of reflection: We've come so far!

As I stood with my eyes closed, in a moment of reflection, all the positive changes that have happened in my life came to mind. It was like a mini before and after slide show was playing about my life. I started to see how much I have changed as a person and how I have grown in confidence, especially towards myself and my abilities. I am not the same woman I was a year ago. I am completely different. And to all those who have invested in themselves, so are you!

It's not because we are in a new month or year that the difference in our lives has happened. The decision we made to be different and live a better life has made it happen. We may not have everything we wish for, nor is our life exactly how we want it to be at this moment in time , but we can't deny that there has been change. Things have developed and so have we.

Though you may be single right now, remember the decision you made to leave that unhealthy relationship and decided to keep yourself for the right person because you saw your value? Doesn't that say something about you? A woman who knows her worth! You have overcome depression, selling your body for money and pleasure, mixing with the wrong crowd, depending on substances, a traumatic childhood, hurt, low self esteem and many other things. Be proud of yourself. You have done what many people are afraid to do. That makes you strong and different. Keep going.

Remember where you came from, because that will drive you to remain on this road of change until the end, no matter how hard things get. If we have overcome so much already, we can certainly overcome what we are facing now and what is to come. We are strong and we will make it.

Life is too short..

Life is too short to keep grudges towards those who have hurt us; forgive!

Life is too short to hate your brother; learn to love one another.

Life is too short to live without a plan; set goals and live a purposeful life.

Life is too short to keep re-living the past; let it go.

Life is too short to dwell in self pity; stop feeling sorry for yourself and move on.

Life is too short to be negative; be positive about yourself, others and life as a whole.

Life is too short to be confined to the same four walls and mind frame day in day out; get out there, be ambitious, make positive things happen.

Life is too short to live a lie; decide to walk in truth and live an honest life.

Life is too short not to do something new; change your mindset,

Life is too short to care about what others think about you; know your worth, value yourself and live the life God has planned for you. If you don’t know it, search for it!

Life is too short to live life recklessly, simply going with the flow and without morals; invest in what matters while you have time.

Life is too short and at any moment it can be taken away from us! We have a soul that needs taking care of and the things mentioned above will helps us!

My aunt passed away yesterday and throughout the day I was thinking how short life is and when we die, we will not take anything with us, only our soul. If we neglect it and don’t give it in the hands of The One (God)  who can save it, we will be lost.

What’s the point of having all the riches and fame on earth and spending eternity in torment, only because we failed to work out our salvation?

I am so glad I had the opportunity to be present in my aunt’s  last few days here on earth and that she was reconciled with my mother who she had not seen or spoken to her 11 years!

Lets make our days count, while we are still here!
